Protect the court draft packet without hiding ownership
Folder Lock may fit selected Windows-based encrypted draft archive workflows after current-version testing. It is not a replacement for provider sharing permissions, court filing portal account identity management, guaranteed backup or guaranteed password recovery. Cloud-related features and compatibility must be verified against the current release and actual environment.
A self-represented litigant preserves the source, creates a minimized review copy and records each authorized handoff before submitting or sharing the draft packet.
Run the control sequence
- 01
Verify official source, current release, license and supported Windows environment.
- 02
Pilot a fictional draft exhibit packet set before importing the court draft packet and supporting attachments.
- 03
Test locker creation, lock/unlock, reopen and plaintext residue.
- 04
Test separately stored backup, restore and lost-password consequences.
- 05
Approve only the verified use; document exclusions and review date.
Preserve the decision record
Record version, installer source, license, Windows environment, archive/locker settings, test manifest, lock/unlock result, residue, backup, recovery result, exclusions and owner.
Stop when
- Legacy screenshots are treated as proof of the current release.
- The product is used as a collaboration permission system.
- No independent recovery copy or restore test exists.
The record should show the approved draft exhibit packet, tested environment, responsible people and known limitations without storing passwords or unnecessary personal data, unredacted identifiers or superseded drafts.
Separate the surrounding controls
It does not establish the identity or authority of a litigant or helper, provide legal advice, or determine filing validity, jurisdictional format, deadlines, admissibility, service, required redaction, or court acceptance; it does not replace court filing portal and provider permissions, guaranteed backup, password recovery or court filing portal account identity management. Encryption does not authorize a recipient, preserve every backup or remove plaintext working copies automatically.
Inspect the workflow, not the artwork

Folder Lock does not replace court filing portal and provider permissions, guaranteed backup, password recovery or court filing portal account identity management.
Court draft packet questions
Should encryption become the court draft packet system?
No. Keep the authoritative draft source in the approved court draft packet system and archive primary draft archive deliberately.
Does resetting a password recover an existing archive?
Do not assume so. Document the product-specific recovery boundary and test a separate recovery copy.
